There Are Basically THREE Car Parks At Ruislip LidoCar Park One: Willow Lawn Car Park Open to anyone

Residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon can apply to the Council for a Hillingdon First Card allowing them discounted car parking and free refuse disposal at local waste centres etc. If you visit the Lido by car then having this card will give you substantial discounts over what residents from other boroughs have to pay!

Residents of Hillingdon who wish to park at the Lido can do so for free for up to thee hours (Correct 2025). All you have to do is present your card at the machine and display your ticket.

You must always get, and display in your car, a ticket from the machine in the car park even if you have a Hillingdon First Card

This car park, called Willow Lawn, is furthest away from what one might deem the "Main Entrance" and the pub, when you get to the little roundabout by the pub you go "straight on".
There are six electric car charging points in this car park.

This car park is locked at night where the times are shown at the head of this page.
Motorcycle parking is free in dedicated space
Blue Badge parking is free for all in this car park. See signs locally for more information.

Car Park Two: Ruislip Lido Main Car Park Open to anyone

The "Public" part of the car park is to the right.
When you get to the little roundabout you turn left to access this area, then bear right.

(The entrance sharp left is for the pub car park only and if you are not going to the pub DO NOT GO IN THERE AT ALL OR YOU WILL GET A PARKING TICKET. If you are going to park in this section you MUST give your registration number to them over the bar, and do this even if you drive in by mistake!! They then allow up to three hours free parking (you have to make a purchase I believe)).

This is what was the old main car park and is more or less opposite the entrance and the pub. Hillingdon First Card holders can park in this public part of the car park and adjacent Willow Lawn Car Park is actually free for Hillingdon First Cardholders for up to 3 hours, and again you must display a ticket.

If you do not have a Hillingdon First Card then the price to park is shown at here. There are no short term tickets available.
There are no electric vehicle charging points in this car park, there are on "Willow Lawn" car park

This car park is locked at night, where the times are shown here.
Blue Badge parking is free for all in this car park but see signs locally for any restrictions.
Car Park Three: The Waters Edge Pub Car Park: Waters Edge Customers ONLY

This is to the left as you enter the main car park and there is an ANPR camera that gets a snapshot of your number plate as you drive in.

My understanding is you have to give your registration number in at the bar or enter it in to a Tablet PC there and you then get up to three hours free parking (best check how long in the pub if it is not clear). You have to at least buy a drink.

DO NOT DRIVE IN THIS CAR PARK UNLESS YOU PLAN TO VISIT THE PUB EVEN WHEN THE PUB IS CLOSED as you will get a ticket if you do not, or can not, give your car registration number in over the bar. The option of parking and paying with or without a Hillingdon First Card does NOT apply in this section of the car park.

Of course if you only wanted to park for a short period you could park in the pub section, go in the pub and give them your registration number, buy a drink (soft?) and you have three hours parking for the cost of the drink.

Blue Badge parking is not free in this car park

General Information

These car parks are regularly patrolled. If you do not get the correct ticket you will get a fine from the council or from the pub car park managers as applicable.

If you have a Hillingdon First Card you MUST get a ticket from the machine using your card and display it. Hillingdon First Card free parking only applies in the Willow Lawn Car Park, in the main car park Hillingdon First Card holders should check the machine and will probably have to pay a nominal charge to park and MUST display a ticket. The maximum period of parking may also be limited. To repeat: Hillingdon First Card or "normal" tickets are not valid in the Waters Edge section of the car park. If you park it the pub section you must get a drink (at least) over the bar and give them your registration number or you will be issued with a fine through the post.Do not park in the local streets as chances are you will get a ticket, even if you park on Ducks Hill Road at the far end of Reservoir Road you will get fined.
Do not park in the car park for The Six Bells pub.

Extra Weekend Car Parking

If you are planning to drive and make a visit to Ruislip Lido on a hot weekend you need to think ahead and assume you wil not find a parking space (!) and know what the alternatives are.
Please bear in mind that on busy summer weekend it will be almost impossible to park in the local streets as controlled parking zones operate. You are better off the use the alternatives offered below.
The Hillingdon Council Web Sites says:
If you are visiting the Lido by car and the car parks are full, there are no alternative nearby parking facilities. There are clearway zones and no-stopping restrictions in force on the roads surrounding and in the vicinity of the Lido which are strictly enforced.

We strongly advise visitors to plan their journey to Ruislip Lido using other means of transport.

Park and Ride to Ruislip Lido on a Saturday.

A very worthy alternative that may well actually save you money and also driving around for hours on a busy day is to park at Ruislip Station Car Park and hop on one of the frequent buses to Ruislip Lido.
This is an excellent and cheap option for a Saturday visit (and a Sunday one is not expensive either) but for a Sunday visit and free parking see the paragraph below.
See this page for details of the cheap Saturday park and ride option..

Park and Ride (and park for free) on a Sunday

At the bottom (Lido) end of Ruislip High Street is a 118 space car park which is free on a Sunday.

The total walk from the car park to the bus stop is around 200 yards
Assuming you have failed to find a space at the Lido car park exit Reservoir Road and turn left in to Bury Street. Stay on this road for a little over one mile. At the end of the road there is a roundabout where you should turn left and then almost immediately left again in to St Martins Approach. The entrance to the car park is almost immediately on the left.

Park up and walk back to St Martins Approach and turn right towards the main road. At the top of the road is a zebra crossing, cross here and turn right on the pavement towards the High Street. After you pass around the bend you will see another zebra crossing, again cross the road. Just up the High Street you will now see a bus stop. From here regular buses leave for the Lido, either a 331 or, better still, a H13. Generally they run every 20 minutes.
The adult fare is £1.75 (Correct 2025) and any children travelling are free provided they have the correct "Oyster" card, See this page for more information.

If they do not have the right card then the full adult fare is payable and you cannot put more than one ticket on one card at a time, so you will either need a separate contactless card or full adult Oyster Card for each child.

London buses do not accept cash payments.
You should be able to see a full timetable for the H13 here

The postcode for this car park is HA4 8BD and for a Sunday this is an excellent, stress free and cheap way to make a visit.

To park here on a Saturday will cost you around £6.25 and the station car park at the other end of Ruislip High Street on a Saturday is much cheaper and also near a bus stop. See this page.

Unofficial - Extra Weekend Car Parking at Mad Bess Wood

A very easy option is to look for a space in the car park for Mad Bess Wood.

Assuming you have failed to find a space in the main car park at the Lido drive to the end of the road and at the T-Junction turn right, so up the hill. Do not park on the verges up this road but instead head up to the brow of the hill where you will see some traffic lights. Just after the lights there is a turning to the left in to Mad Bess Woods car park.

The walk back down the hill to the Lido is a little over 1,000 yards.

There Are Basically THREE Car Parks At Ruislip LidoCar Park One: Hillingdon First Cardholders Only

Residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon can apply to the Council for a Hillingdon First Card allowing them discounted car parking and free refuse disposal at local waste centres etc. If you visit the Lido by car then having this card will give you substantial discounts over what residents from other boroughs have to pay!

Residents of Hillingdon who wish to park at the Lido can do so for free. All you have to do is present your card at the machine and display your ticket.

You must always get a ticket and although the machine has a coin slot there is no option to pay by cash. If you are not a Hillingdon First Card holder you msut use the other car park for the Lido.

This car park, called Willow Lawn, is furthest away from what one might deem the "Main Entrance" and the pub, when you get to the little roundabout by the pub you go "straight on".
There are six electric car charging points in this car park and you MUST have a Hillingdon First Card to use them.

This car park is locked at night where the times are shown at the head of this page.

Car Park Two:Hillingdon First Cardholders And Those From Outside The Area

The "Public" part of the car park is to the right.
When you get to the little roundabout you turn left to access this area, then bear right.

(The entrance sharp left is for the pub car park only and if you are not going to the pub DO NOT GO IN THERE AT ALL OR YOU WILL GET A PARKING TICKET. If you are going to park in this section you MUST give your registration number to them over the bar, and do this even if you drive in by mistake!! They then allow up to three hours free parking (you have to make a purchase I believe)).

This is what was the old main car park and is more or less opposite the entrance and the pub. Hillingdon First Card holders can park in this public part of the car park for free, and again you must display a ticket.

If you do not have a Hillingdon First Card then the price to park is shown at the head of this page. There are no short term tickets available.
There are no electric vehicle charging points in this car park, there are on "Willow Lawn" (see above) but you MUST have a Hillingdon First Card and get a ticket in there to use them.

This car park is locked at night, where the times are shown at the head of this page.
Car Park Three:The Waters Edge Pub

The option of free parking with a Hillingdon First Card does NOT apply in this section of the car park.

If you have a Hillingdon First Card it is suggested that you park in one of the main car parks then the two hour curfew would not apply.

Of course if you only wanted to park for a short period you could park in the pub section, go in the pub and give them your registration number, buy a drink (soft?) and you have three hours parking for the cost of the drink.

General Information

These car parks are regularly patrolled. If you do not get the correct ticket you will get a fine from the council or from the pub car park managers as applicable.

If you have a Hillingdon First Card you MUST get a ticket from the machine using your card and display it. This free option excludes the pub section of the car park where you MUST use the pub and enter your registration number in there. To repeat: Hillingdon First Card tickets are not valid in the Waters Edge section of the car park. If you park it the pub section you must get a drink (at least) over the bar and give them your registration number or you will be issued with a fine through the post.

Do not park in the local streets as chances are you will get a ticket, even if you park on Ducks Hill Road at the far end of Reservoir Road you will get fined.
Do not park in the car park for The Six Bells pub.

Unofficial - Extra Weekend Car Parking

Before the car parks were all changed and extended there were signs directing you to an overflow car park option by using the car park at Breakspear Crematorium.

Now, although those signs have been removed parking at the Crematorium may well still be possible, and whilst during the week when there are services on this could be considered as disrespectful at weekends the car parks are open there are no services held so you could use it. There may be signs there saying you cannot use it for the Lido but there is no difference between a car parking to go to the crematorium and one where people are going to the Lido. At the time of writing parking here is not charged.

To get to the crematorium exit Reservoir Road where the Lido is and turn left, then right at the mini roundabout after about 100 yards. The main entrance to the Crematorium is immediately on the right but do not enter here instead go along the road about 200 yards and you will see a second entrance to it on the right, Enter here and the car park is just through the gates. Please be aware this car park is locked after 6 p.m.

Don't pay to park at all for Ruislip Lido

This is recommended for a visit on weekdays as the station car park suggested elsewhere is dearer and often full in the week.
Equally this should would work just as well at weekends

A quick look at the bus route for the H13 bus shows it passing along fairly main roads but coming off these roads are many side streets where parking is free and usually readily available.
